Region 3 Collaborative / Victoria
Mission
The mission of the Region 3 Science Collaborative is to enhance the capacity of science teachers to enact curricula reforms that produce higher student achievement. Professional development with the Region 3 Science Collaborative centers on content knowledge of Biology, principles of effective instruction and student learning.
Accomplishments
The 2010-2011 Region 3 Science Collaborative finished the year with thirty-six science teacher mentors averaging one hundred twenty-two hours of professional development. These teachers participated in our Earth Science/Geology Institute as well as many other timely professional developments for K-12 science teachers.

Events and Activities
The Region 3 Science Collaborative was pleased and excited to honor our Science Teacher Mentors at our Honoring the Teacher Event held at University of Houston Victoria on May 5, 2011. Dr. Kamil Jbeily, Excutive Director of the Texas Regional Collaboratives, was the keynote speaker. Certificates of appreciation from the Honorable Geanie Morrision were presented to each teacher for their service to education.
