The TRC hosted a week long PDA in June for teams of high school geometry and construction science teachers. Contextual Learning Concepts provided the training on how to infuse math into the Career and Technical Education courses, where students can readily identify the relevance of mathematics.
The attending teachers were given math content and strategies, and all participated in the construction of a small playhouse.
Beginning the 2012-13 school year, several high schools including Connally High School and Hendrickson High School of Pflugerville ISD, will begin teaching Geometry in Construction.
