Eligible Attendees

Participants attending the PDA should plan to be the primary presenter for a two-day turnaround training that is both pedagogy and content intense. Total number of participants is limited to 50. Collaboratives may register one to two people. The second person will be accepted on a first come first served basis. We will notify projects by December 2nd if their second registrant is not confirmed.

 

Description

During this PDA David Foster will help teacher leaders understand the basic strategies for implementing Formative Assessment Lessons (FALs) designed and presented as Classroom Challenges by the Mathematics Assessment Project.  David will also share video cases of these lessons and results on teacher and student learning from various studies conducted by the Mathematics Assessment Project and the Silicon Valley Mathematics Institute. The PDA will prepare teacher leaders to teach their teachers how to conduct Formative Assessment Lessons in their own classrooms.

Certificates of Participation

Certificates stating 14 hours of Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Parking

Validated parking is available in the Brazos Garage at the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Brazos Street. Pull a paper ticket to park in the garage, and participants will receive a prepaid parking pass each day at the workshop to leave the garage.

Registration

Cost

$60.00 per day for each participant. $120.00 total per participant for this 2-day workshop.

Registration fees cover breakfast, lunch and training materials.

Payments are due before this event.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not in attendance.

Event limited to 40 participants.

Registration Payment

Participants can pay by credit card or check. The registration confirmation email will contain all the necessary information you need to provide to your business offices regarding credit card payment records and check processing instructions.

Checks for registration need to be made out to “The University of Texas at Austin.” Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the printed registration confirmation email.

Transportation Reimbursement

Transportation expenses for TRC collaborative attendees will be reimbursed.* Reimbursement forms will be provided electronically after the event.

*If you owe money to any State of Texas organization or entity, whatever amount you were to receive may be credited toward your debt.
