Mathematics Participant Requirements

By agreeing to participate in the TRC Mathematics Collaboratives, you have agreed to do the following:

All Mathematics Participants Must

• Obtain a UT-EID in order to gain access to the online evaluation tools. You can do so through the Get a UT-EID website.
  • If you have trouble obtaining or using your UT-EID, please call 512-475-7387 for assistance.
  • Note: UT-EIDs are issued and administered by the UT Office of Admissions.
• Complete a TRC Participant Data and Consent Form. This can be done one of two ways.
  • Download and complete the TRC Participant Data and Consent Form (PDF) and return it to your Project Director.
  • Use the Online Participant Data Form to enter your information directly into the DataCenter.
• Complete Pre- and Post- content Assessments with your Project Director.

Please complete both surveys listed below.

• The Principles of Learning Scale
• TRC Survey of Mathematics Teaching Beliefs and Practices

The purpose of these surveys is to identify teacher characteristics such as number of years of teaching experience, academic background, and professional development experiences, as well as pedagogical practices and beliefs. It should take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete both surveys. You will need your UT-EID to be able to take the surveys.

How to access the TRC Quest Learning & Assessment System

1. Go to the TRC Quest Learning & Assessment System
2. Select the name of your Collaborative to enroll in the course.
3. Login with your UT-EID and password.
4. On the next screen, select the course "TRC" from the Course dropdown. (Upper left-hand side of the screen.)
5. For the Pre-Test, select Pre-test from the Assignment dropdown. (Upper left-hand side of the screen.)
6. For the Post-Test, select Post-Test from the Assignment dropdown. (Upper left-hand side of the screen.)
7. Select Semester.
   • Pre-Test Semester: Fall 2011
   • Post-Test Semester: Spring 2012
8. Complete each assignment as instructed.
