Mission

To provide quality, sustained professional learning opportunities to middle and high school teachers of physics and physical science though the use of master teachers. To encourage and support teachers of the physical sciences by providing professional learning that is strong both in pedagogy and content and reflects research based best classroom practices.

Accomplishments

The University of Dallas Collaborative uses the AAPT/PTRA program and model to provide professional development to teachers across the state of Texas. This model involves partnerships among university professors, research specialists, and master teachers and has substantial evidence to support that this model is effective in increasing both student and teacher understanding of physics. The partners involved in this collaborative currently include: University of Dallas, Lee College, AAPT, and PTRA.
