
Education Service Center Region XI will provide sustained, high intensity mathematics professional development supported by scientifically based research aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Professional development will be provided to K-12 teachers in district, charter, and private schools who serve a student population that is at least 40% economically disadvantaged and/or identified as Academically Unacceptable or not making Adequate Yearly Progress.
The Education Service Center Region XI Texas Regional Mathematics Collaborative goals are the following:
During the 2006-2007 school year, the ESC Region XI Mathematics Collaborative served more than 600 teachers and mathematcs leaders, impacting more than 29,000 students. Teachers who attending the professional development indicated that the training would have a positive impact on the achievement of their students. Through the month of December in the 2007-2008 school year, more than 200 teachers from 45 districts have attended professional development offered through the collaborative.
